Christiane Endler sits down with CNN

The Parisian shot-stopper spoke recently with the American news outlet about Chile's hopes and dreams for the Women's World Cup and how the 27 year old is paving the way for women in her home nation.

This week, Christiane Endler became the first female player to captain her country at a World Cup finals when Chile opened their account against Sweden in Rennes on Tuesday 11th June. It was a moment of history for the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper that was the result of years of dedication and hard work.

Christiane met before the tournament with CNN to speak about her journey, and how she has been able to inspire other women in her home nation, saying

"It feels like doors are opening for other women to realize their dreams and not only in football. There are things that can be achieved with hard work and effort and I think we can help many women, to fulfill their dreams."
