All you need to know about the Trophée des Championnes

Paris Saint-Germain Women and Olympique Lyonnais will face off in the first ever edition of the Trophée des Championnes this Saturday 21 September at 15:30 at the Stade de Roudourou in Guingamp.

THE INAUGURAL EVENT

The Trophée des Championnes is the female version of the Trophée des Champions. It pits the winner of the Women's Division 1 versus the winner of the Coupe de France. When the same club wins both trophies, like last season, the league champions play the runners-up. French champions and Coupe de France winners in the 2018-19 season, Lyon take on Paris Saint-Germain, second last season. If the match is tied after regular time, the match will be decided by a penalty shootout. Situated between Weeks 3 and 4 of the D1 season, the Trophée des Championnes will take place before the start of the season as of next year, in 2020.

NOËL LE GRAËT AND CORINNE DIACRE IN ATTENDANCE

The president of the French Football Federation Noël Le Graët will be at the Stade du Roudourou and will present the winning side with the trophy. France national team coach Corinne Diacre will also be at the game.
