Aïssatou Tounkara joins Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain are delighted to announce the arrival of Aïssatou Tounkara for the next two seasons. The French international is now tied to the club until 30 June 2025.

A native of the capital, the central defender first played football in 2006 for SC Buttes-Chaumont in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. Two years later, at the age of 13, Aïssatou joined GPSO 92 Issy. In 2010, the new Parisian joined FCF Juvisy Essonne (now Paris FC), where she signed her first professional contract.

Eight seasons later, Aïssatou Tounkara left France to play for Atlético de Madrid. With the Colchoneras, she won a Spanish championship in 2019 and a national Supercup in 2020. In the summer of 2022, the defender signed for Manchester United in England.

Aïssatou Tounkara has played for all of France's youth teams. In 2012, she won the U17 World Cup and then the U19 European Championship the following year. A few days ago, she took part in the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. With Les Bleues, she has 40 caps and 3 goals to her name.

The club from the capital would like to welcome Aïssatou to the club, and hopes that she will go on to win many titles for the Rouge et Bleu.
