Aissatou Tounkara: "I'm immensely proud"

The new Paris Saint-Germain women's team player spoke to PSG TV about her arrival at the club.

Aïssatou, how do you feel about signing for Paris Saint-Germain?

"I'm immensely proud to be signing for Paris. I was born in Paris, it's where I grew up. So I'm very happy."

How does it feel to be back where it all began?

"As soon as I heard that Paris Saint-Germain were interested, I knew it would be a great opportunity for me. I'm getting closer to my family and coming to a big club. Everything's in place for it to go well."

What motivated you to join the club?

"It's a very ambitious club with a good squad and some very good players. The staff are just as good. All the elements are in place for me to fit in well with the project and try to achieve our goals. Why not go for a title? And I know a few players like Karchaoui, Geyoro, Katoto, Calligaris, who I've played with before, and many others. Coming back to France and signing here is bound to make it easier for me to integrate."

Your family must be proud...

"Yes, definitely. Paris Saint-Germain is the club that all my family support. So when I told them I was coming, they were really happy. They'll be coming to see me at every game!"

You've played in Spain, England... How have these experiences abroad changed you?

"There were some good moments, some titles, but also some more difficult moments, so I think I've gained a lot of experience to be able to help the team now. I'm very happy to be back in France now."
