A successful end to 2018

Paris Saint-Germain's Women's team signed off on the year in style with a 7-1 win over Metz in Sunday's league game.

At the Stade Jean-Bouin this Sunday, Olivier Echouafni's team gave their opponents no chance. From the start, they dominated. Just seven minutes in, Katoto ended a scramble in the visitors' goalmouth with the opening strike, though Metz reacted immediately and Delabre equalised less than 60 seconds later. Lawrence charged down the left before delivering a fine shot that made it 2-1 after quarter-of-an-hour. Katoto soon made it 3-1, finishing Diani's cross at the back post (17'). Lawrence's header was parried, but she snapped up the rebound to make it a comfortable 4-1 lead at half-time.

It took just seven minutes of the second half for Katoto to complete her hat-trick, somehow going unnoticed at the back post before firing home. Wang Shuang scored a magnificent sixth, volleying into the net after meeting a cross ever so sweetly (58'), and Diani made it seven in the closing stages (82') as the Rouge-et-Bleu remain two points behind leaders Lyon.
