A Parisian storm

Paris Saint-Germain's Women's team beat Dijon 3-0 on Sunday 31 March 2024 on Matchday 19 of the D1 Arkema at the PSG Campus.

It was a case of déjà vu on several levels. First of all, the Parisians were aiming to take all three points to keep up the pace in the league and give themselves a good chance of reaching the play-offs.

And their mission was accomplished, with a clear-cut victory over a Burgundy side who were outclassed. It was Katoto who opened the scoring shortly before the quarter-hour mark, a familiar refrain in Paris, the Parisian striker getting her side off to a good start (1-0, 13').

Who else but Tabitha Chawinga to add the second goal. The Malawian striker doubled the lead in true Chawinga style, and the Parisians took off (2-0, 45'), just before the break, before the turbulent weather.

A storm then broke over Poissy, reminiscent of the 2018 Coupe de France final, which was interrupted due to heavy rain. Another familiar story, but the match finally resumed after a few moments of uncertainty, with Chawinga putting an end to the suspense just before the hour mark (3-0, 59').

It was a storming victory, both on the pitch and in the air, and one that bodes well for the end of the season.
