Thiago Motta named new Paris Saint-Germain U19 coach

Paris Saint-Germain is very happy to announce Thigo Motta has been named coach of the club’s U19 squad and will begin his new mission when training begins this Wednesday.

After a magnificent playing career and winning 27 trophies, including 18 with Paris Saint-Germain between 2012 and 2018, the former Italy international midfielder (30 caps) begins his new life as a coach, this Wednesday 18 July, with the Rouge et Bleu U19 squad – four times national champions (2006, 2010, 2011, 2016).

At 35 years of age, Thiago Motta played 231 matches for Paris Saint-Germain, scoring 12 goals and providing 18 assists.

The new U19 coach will take charge of his first training session this Wednesday at 16:00 CET, behind closed doors at Paris’ Youth Academy.

Thiago Motta will lead the U19 side in the national championship as well as the UEFA Youth League that begins in September.

His coaching staff will comprise Régis Beunardeau, Simon Colinet and Benjamin Leborgne.

The club wishes Thiago Motta as much success as a coach, as he enjoyed as a player during his six seasons with the capital club.
