Paris Saint-Germain celebrates the Rio Carnaval

Paris Saint-Germain celebrated the Rio Carnaval in unprecedented fashion on 3 March with its Brazilian fans!

In the presence of more than 6,000 people on the Toca Rauuul, Paris Saint-Germain joined the Carnaval to celebrate the most important event in Brazil each year. Former Paris star Alex Dias was the special guest surrounded by the Paris supporters.

Concerts, a carnaval giant wearing the club strip, plenty of gifts and surprises handed out... the historic centre of Rio Janeiro was dancing to a Parisian beat thanks to the fans of Les Rouge et Bleu! A best-dressed competition saw the two winners receive signed Thiago Silva and Neymar Jr shirts!

This incredible day once again highlights the strong bonds that tie Paris Saint-Germain to Brazil and its football supporters. The club has more than four million Brazilian fans on social media. Last year, Paris Saint-Germain had already caight the eye at the Rio Carnaval with an aeroplane that flew along the famous beaches with a message wishing everyone a happy carnaval.

Alex Dias, former Paris Saint-Germain forward:

"It has been a marvellous day.I would like to thank Paris Saint-Germain for making this happen. The Carnaval is a very important time for all us Brazilians, a magical moment. I met a lot of Paris fans today, from France and Brazil... so many fans! This type of event will further develop the image of Paris Saint-Germain in Brazil."
