Paris Saint-Germain and PingAn announce official regional partnership in China

Global football club Paris Saint-Germain has announced an official regional partnership with China’s biggest insurance company, PINGAN.

PINGAN becomes Paris Saint-Germain’s official partner in China for next season. The partnership marks a new milestone for Paris Saint-Germain as part of its Asian development strategy, following on from the establishment of an Asia-Pacific HQ based in Singapore last year and Chinese office in Shanghai.

Sébastien Wasels, Managing Director of Paris Saint-Germain Asia Pacific, declared: “We’re delighted to welcome PINGAN into the Paris Saint-Germain family. This partnership demonstrates the growing commitment of the club to China.

We can feel the excitement of the fans is growing in the country ahead of the Club’s much-anticipated Summer Tour, especially on popular Chinese social media platforms Weibo, WeChat, Douyin and Toutiao, where the Club’s community has reached over 2 million individuals and growing. Together with PINGAN, we are especially looking forward to working on the exciting projects to inspire Chinese football hopefuls and contribute to the development of football in China.

The first year of collaboration between PINGAN and Paris Saint-Germain will be devoted to support the development and establishment of local youth training camps to provide outstanding young Chinese footballers with world-class youth training.

PINGAN will hold 200 trials for the “PINGAN Football Support Plan Program” across 16 Chinese cities. Through football games, outstanding youngsters will be selected to participate in Paris Saint-Germain’s professional football training camps.

As part of Paris Saint-Germain’s China Tour this Summer, PINGAN, together with the Club, will run a celebration of football and dream fulfillment program. This activation includes 50 children selected as part of nationwide trials to win the opportunity to participate in the PINGAN x Paris Saint-Germain Summer academy program. The immersive training program will be offered to the selected PINGAN footballers to participate in a 2-week training camp in Paris, which includes exciting visits to the Parc des Princes, the Club’s home stadium.

China is a priority market for Paris Saint-Germain, as the is Club set to embark on another pre-season tour next month. Paris Saint-Germain will face Italian Serie A side Inter Milan at the Macao Olympic Sports Center on July 27 and Sydney FC at the Suzhou Sports Center on July 30. This is positive news for Paris Saint-Germain fans in Asia, as the continent is home to 25% of the Club’s fanbase.

Paris Saint-Germain’s summer China tour also marks the second year in a row the club has visited mainland China, having won last year’s French Super Cup against Monaco in Shenzhen in August. The Club will once again compete in the French Super Cup in Shenzhen against French Cup winners Stade Rennes F.C on August 3.
