Originally from Créteil, Yoann Gibelin joined his home-town club's youth academy at the age of 13 before turning professional four years later, in 2017. He scored 95 goals in 53 games for the club.
With the France U18 team, the left-back achieved the double by winning the European Championship in 2016 and the World Championship a year later.
At 18, he played for the France U21 team that was crowned World Champion in 2019, one year after being runner-up in the European Championship. He makes up the Rouge & Bleu left back pair with Elohim Prandi.
