Yoann Gibelin signs for Paris

Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce the signing of Yoann Gibelin, effective as of July 2022. The 21-year-old left-back will be linked to the capital club for two seasons.

Originally from Créteil, Yoann Gibelin joined his home-town club's youth academy at the age of 13 before turning professional four years later, in 2017. He scored 95 goals in 53 games for the club.

With the France U18 team, the left-back achieved the double by winning the European Championship in 2016 and the World Championship a year later.

At 18, he played for the France U21 team that was crowned World Champion in 2019, one year after being runner-up in the European Championship.

"As a native of the Ile-de-France region, signing for Paris Saint-Germain is an immense source of pride," said Yoann Gibelin after signing his contract. "I am aware that I am arriving at a club with a prestigious history. I am aware of what an opportunity it is to play under such a renowned coaching staff and alongside some of the greatest players in the sport. I am looking forward to contributing to such a rich squad."

"The signing of Yoann Gibelin represents a promise for the future of the Club," said Paris Saint-Germain General Manager Jean-Claude Blanc. "His progress over the last two seasons illustrates his talent and potential for the years to come. Yoann joins a squad based on a combination of experienced world-class players and youngsters with great potential who are already seasoned at the highest level."
