Who will be Paris' Player of the Month for October?

Paris Saint-Germain Handball's record in October couldn't be better: five wins from five matches in all competitions. But which of Les Rouge et Bleu was the best? Here's the list of nominees!

NEDIM REMILI

September winner Nedim Remili has every chance of making it back-to-back awards, the France international bagging 27 goals to match his effectiveness from last month. Toulouse in the Lidl StarLigue (36-30) and Nantes in the Velux EHF Champions League (35-34) won't forget our right-back - or his eight-goal hauls - any time soon. But on top of his contributions in attack, Nedim has also been in view in defence, versatility he showed off against the Fenix as he scored one of the best goals of the season so far.

THIERRY OMEYER

At just under 42 years of age (his birthday is on 2 November), Thierry Omeyer is just as capable as ever at frustrating opposition forwards. The strikers in our league have been crashing up against this immovable object for generations without any chinks appearing in his armour. Just ask Dunkerque's front line what they think. In their Coupe de la Ligue round of 16 clash, which Paris won (34-23), the capital club built their game on a Titi in amazing form, the France legend making 22 saves from 44 opposition shots (50%). All told in October, he made no fewer than 46 saves.

MIKKEL HANSEN

Les Rouge et Bleu's top scorer in October with 29 goals, Mikkel Hansen has turned in some excellent performances in recent weeks. He was notably one of the main men as Paris claimed victory in his homeland against Skjern (24-26). With the teams neck-and-neck in the final minutes, the Danish international made the difference with a slew of goals and also a number of assists. In the league, his standout moment was an eight-goal haul against Toulouse.

LUKA KARABATIC

Already in fine fettle in September, Luka Karabatic confirmed his form in October. Impeccable in defence, the Paris Saint-Germain Handball pivot has helped 'keepers Thierry Omeyer and Rodrigo Corrales to shine. But to think of Luka as just a defender would be to do the versatile well-rounded player a great disservice. For example, he bagged 16 goals in the month of October, seven of which came against Nantes in the Velux EHF Champions League Round 4 clash in Paris. In the Lidl StarLigue, he has also been dangerous in front of goal, shooting at 100% against Pontaul-Combault (2 from 2) Toulouse (3 from 3).

UWE GENSHEIMER

Once again, Uwe Gensheimer has been on fire! With a 7 from 8 against Pontault (38-25), our left-winger did our Paris-region neighbours plenty of damage, but the PCHB have not been his only victims. He has scored in every match he has played in October, totalling 21 goals in a style that mixes style with a ruthless cutting edge. He notably struck a screamer against Skjern as he appeared to hang suspended in the air, and also produced one of his trademark spin-shots to dazzle the crowd against Nantes - a masterpiece that earned him a place in the Top 5 Goals for Velux EHF Champions League Round 4.
