Who is the Parisian of the month for September?

Eight matches, eight wins... Paris Saint-Germain Handball's start to the season - across all competitions - could not be better. But which of Les Rouge et Bleu' stars has distinguished himself the most?

MIKKEL HANSEN

As early as August 31, Mikkel Hansen indicated that September would be a successful month for the capital club. The Danish international played a starring role in his team's success in the Champions Trophy final, scoring 11 times against Montpellier (34-27). But in recent weeks, our left-back has reached another two milestones in Lidl StarLigue. First, he scored his 1000th top-flight goal in the clash with Istres (25-35), which took him into the Top 10 of the division's all-time highest scorers. A week later, against Nantes (32-29), he converted his 300th penalty. A prolific period for him - even though he only took part in four matches!

VINCENT GERARD

A little like Mikki, Vincent Gérard had a successful September, both on the court and in the stats. For his very first official match with his new club, the Parisian 'keeper did a lot of damage to his former team-mates, swatting aside 17 of their shots in the Trophée des Champions to earn man of the match honours. The French international has also become the Lidl StarLigue's most effective goalkeeper and, above all, the first to reach 3000 stops in the league! A feat he achieved away to Chartres (30-36), where he also made a parry that earned him a place among the Top Five saves for Round 3.

NEDIM REMILI

Nedim Remili has scored 38 goals in recent weeks, handing opposition defences a real ordeal. In the Velux EHF Champions League, he gave Szeged (30-25) no chance, scoring with all five of his shots. In the league, he is currently the best Les Rouge et Bleu's top scorer, with 17 goals in four appearances, including eight in Chartres. At just 24 years old, the French right-back has already made his mark on the French championship, scoring 500 goals in just seven Lidl StarLigue seasons. His start to the season has been every bit as promising as the early stages of his career have been!

KIM EKDAHL DU RIETZ

Kim Ekdahl du Rietz, who was already excellent in pre-season, confirmed his strong performances as soon as the season proper began. The Swedish international notably turned in excellent performances in successive league outings, first in Chartres and then against Toulouse (34-28), bagging six goals on each occasion. His turn against Toulouse earned him a place in the Best 7 for Round 4. In Europe, our left-back top-scored in the first group-stage match of the campaign with a seven goals as Paris triumphed in Zagreb (29-37). It should be noted that, in this competition, he is only one strike away from 200 career goals.

NIKOLA KARABATIC

Nikola Karabatic really needs no introduction. The Parisian centre-half once again proved a huge plus for his side, both in attack and defence and sometimes in both in the same move! This was certainly the case at home to Szeged, when the France international not only helped shoulder defensive duties, but also fired 8 from 8! He was also clinical against Montpellier at the Trophée des Champions and will doubtless be remembered for his five goals against Toulouse and his four against Elverum Handball (22-25).
