Vincent Gérard: 'A great week'

On Saturday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball picked up their second Lidl StarLigue win of the week, disposing of Nîmes 27-31 to maintain their perfect start to the season with an eighth win in as many matches. Raul Gonzalez, Mikkel Hansen and Vincent Gerard gave us their thoughts on the hard-fought encounter.

Raul Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball coach):
"It was difficult to win here in Nîmes, as usual. They're a re very good team, with an excellent coach. Our start wasn't very good, but our offensive changes did us good. I'm happy because we're still on a strong run here against a team that plays very well. We need to keep working to win this championship."

Mikkel Hansen (Paris Saint-Germain Handball left-back of):
"It's always tough here in Nîmes. This team defends well and counter-attacks quickly. Even though it wasn't our best match, a victory like this makes us happy, because we fought for all 60 minutes. This kind of match is played on details. In the end, we attacked well with 7 against 6. We also changed a few things in defence and Vincent [Gérard] made the stops that were necessary to win."

Vincent Gérard (Paris Saint-Germain Handball goalkeeper):
"One never comes to Nîmes expecting a walk in the park. We are happy with our performance and our state of mind. When Nîmes went a few goals ahead in the last ten minutes, we could have thought that our luck had run out... But we got back to work and managed to score on almost all our attacks. We have eight wins from eight games, which is terrific. Especially when we have won in difficult conditions, which was also the case in Tremblay (30-33). It has been a great week!"
