Uwe gets April gong

After turning in a string of superb performances last month, Uwe Gensheimer was voted in as Paris Saint-Germain Handball Player of the Month for April.

The Germany international shone in every competition he took part in. Despite Les Rouge et Bleu's defeat in the Velux EHF Champions League quarter-final first leg (34-24) Uwe found the back of the net 11 times (often in style, notably through two delightful wrist shots) and bagged his 700th Champions League goal. It was a masterclass that saw him named at left wing in the Best 7 for the round.

He was also on fire in the Lidl Starligue, with a magnificent performance against Montpellier (33-26) in Round 21. He beat Vincent Gérard nine time from 11 efforts, a fact that doubtless helped him to draw the lion's share of the April voting ahead of Luc Abalo, Mikkel Hansen, Luka Karabatic and Viran Morros.
