Uwe and Mikki honoured by the coaches

Heading into the Velux EHF Champions League quarter-final first leg against Kielce, two Paris Saint-Germain Handball players were named in the Best 7 as voted for by the competition's coaches.

The first is none other than Uwe Gensheimer. The German international had an excellent group stage, finding the back of the net 63 times. Among his excellent performances was 9 from 10 against Skjern (38-28) and his buzzer-beating winner against Flensburg (29-28). Uwe is now just one strike away from the 700-goal mark in European competition.

Uwe is accompanied in this Best 7 by Mikkel Hansen. Over and above his excellent start to 2019, which saw him crowned a World Champion (and the World Cup's MVP) with Denmark, our left-back has been a consistent high achiever in Velux EHF Champions League Group B. He is Paris' top scorer from the group stage (64 goals) and was notably decisive in Paris' win over his compatriots Skjern, with eight goals (24-26), as well as against Nantes (31-35), when he struck six times.
