Strong return to action

On Friday night, Paris Saint-Germain Handball took on Aarlborg in Denmark in their first pre-season friendly. The Rouge et Bleu won in style (26-30).

Raul Gonzalez's men took control of the match thanks in no small part to their defence, and notably to Thierry Omeyer, who saved penalty throws and long-distance shots alike to stymie the Danish attack (10': 2-6). Up front, our attackers followed the rhythm, Nedim Remili and Mikkel Hansen showing early signs of an excellent understanding (25': 11-13). Despite momentarily taking their foot off the gas towards the end of the first half, the capital club took a deserved lead into the break (14-16).

In the second half, Paris' 'keeper changed, but nothing else did. Titi made way for Rodrigo Corrales, who measured up well to the French icon, and once again the front line hit its straps: Nedim, Dylan Nahi and Adama Keita lined up to hit the back of the Danish side's net (45': 20-27). Paris' new faces also got in on the act, Henrik Toft Hansen and Viran Morros shining in attack and defence respectively (55': 24-28). As was the case in the first half, Henrik Mollgaard's new club made a comeback in front of their own fans, who had turned out in numbers. But Paris maintained the upper hand and won their first match of the season 26-30.

But the Rouge et Bleu haven't finished with their tour of Denmark! On Saturday afternoon, they will take on Silkeborg in Viborg.
