Skjern fall ahead of Paris clash

While Paris Saint-Germain Handball were beating Toulouse in the Lidl StarLigue on Wednesday night (36-30), impending Velux EHF Champions League opponents Skjern weren't enjoying the same good fortune.

The Green and Blacks were in Round 8 action in Denmark's league, the 888ligaen. Skjern were playing host to KIF Kolding, who have been struggling since the beginning of the league season, but things didn't go according to plan for last season's Champions League quarter-finalists and they fell 28-31. Anders Eggert - Parisian Henrik Toft Hansen's Denmark teammate - bagged five goals but it proved too little to get the better of Kolding, for whom 33-year-old right-back Kasper Irming top-scored with nine.

Skjern now find themselves in eighth place, with Kolding now just a point behind them. Meanwhile, Raul Gonzalez's men will face Skjern at the Jyske Bank Boxen Herning at 16:50 on Sunday - a match you can follow on beIN SPORTS 3 or via our social media platforms.
