Six Rouge et Bleus get national-team call-ups

While four Rouge et Bleu have been called up to the French national team, six other members of the capital club squad are preparing to join their respective national teams. We take a look at what's in store for our Parisians during the international break.

KENT ROBIN TONNESEN AND FERRAN SOLÉ CALLED UP FOR THE OLYMPIC QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT

Kent Robin Tonnesen, who was called up as a medical joker at the last UEFA EURO following Magnus Rod's injury, has once again been called up by Norway coach Jonas Wille as a crucial week looms for the Scandinavians. Norway travel to Tatabanya for the Olympic Qualification Tournament, where they face Portugal (14 March), Tunisia (16 March) and hosts Hungary (17 March). Kent Robin Tonnesen and Co will need to finish in the top two places in their group if they are to qualify for the Olympics.

Like our Norwegian, Ferran Solé has also been called up by his national-team boss, Jordi Ribera, having also been called up during the Euros this winter. Our right-winger will also have to make it through the Olympic Qualifying Tournament to take part in this summer's party. However, Spain have the advantage of being the hosts of their group, and will face Bahrain on 14 March and Slovenia the following day before concluding against Brazil in Granollers on 17 March.

While Kent and Ferran face a decisive week, other Parisians can look forward to less intense encounters, having already qualified - or been eliminated from the race - for the Olympic Games.

JACOB HOLM REWARDED, FRIENDLIES ON THE AGENDA FOR KAMIL SYPRZAK AND LUC STEINS

In addition to France, Sweden have also already qualified for the Olympic Games. The Scandinavians secured their ticket by finishing third at the last Euro, with finalists Denmark (winners of the 2023 World Championship) and France (host nation) already qualified. As a result, Andreas Palicka has no matches on the programme, although he will be taking part in a training camp in Gothenburg with his national team.

Jacob Holm, who was not called up for the Euros, has been rewarded for his superb form with the capital club by being recalled by coach Nikolaj Jacobsen. Our left-back will now have the chance to showcase the full extent of his talent in a friendly against Switzerland, to be played in front of his home crowd in Aarhus on Friday 16 March.

Kamil Syprzak's Poland will be looking to bolster their confidence in a friendly double-header against Serbia in Gdansk on 15 and 17 March, after a Euro that left them with plenty to regret after being eliminated in the preliminary round.

Like Poland, the Netherlands will not be taking part in the Olympic Games this summer. During the international break, coach Staffan Olsson has unsurprisingly called up Luc Steins for the friendly against the Czech Republic. The Oranje will play host to their counterparts in Almere on 15 March.
