Sander Sagosen: 'A very open match'
On Sunday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball won their big European clash against Szeged (33-31). Thanks to the win, les Rouge et Bleu remain atop Velux EHF Champions League Group B. Sander Sagosen, Benoît Kounkoud and Rodrigo Corrales gave us their thoughts on the important win.
Sander Sagosen (Paris Saint-Germain Handball left-back):
"It was a great match and huge battle. It was a very open match, which allowed me to find plenty of space. Everyone on our team played well despite the adversity we were up against."
Rodrigo Corrales (Paris Saint-Germain Handball 'keeper):
"It was a very tight and evenly matched contest. We won a great battle today but we would have liked to win it by a wider margin. We'll fight as hard as we can in order to collect as many points as possible, as the fight to hang onto top spot will be very tough indeed."
Benoit Kounkoud (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-winger):
"Today the objective was to win the match and we did that. It was a hard-fought and intense encounter. We mustn't rest on our laurels. We'll be back in training tomorrow, as we have some huge matches coming up!"
Parisian fan:
"It was a breathless match that had us on the edge of our seats right to the end. Our team had some superb passages but some poorer ones too. Both teams fought hard both physically and mentally, despite the technical superiority of our lads. They showed they are fighters throughout the 60 minutes. We think Paris can go a long way and even win the Champions League this year."
