Sander Sagosen: 'A perfect evening!'

On Saturday evening, Paris Saint-Germain Handball won their Velux EHF Champions League Round 6 clash with Aalborg in style (37-24). A success on which Raul Gonzalez, Sander Sagosen and Luc Abalo gave us their thoughts.

Raul Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball coach):
"It was the first game since the break, so you never know how it's going to go. We had to adapt in defence because our opponent scored a lot of goals, but in the end we hit our straps. We have a lot of matches to play and the meeting with Flensburg is coming quickly. It will be difficult there! Every time we play, it has important ramifications in the race for first place. But we'll do the maths at the end."

Sander Sagosen (Paris Saint-Germain Handball centre-half):
"We knew it would be tough against a great team, who notably beat Flensburg. But after the first quarter of an hour, we raised our game and defended exceptionally. Thanks to that, it was easier to score. Everyone is happy, it's a perfect evening! Now, it will still be hard to get the better of Flensburg, but we know that November is always a difficul month. I was very happy to be able to play again. It's no fun watching friends on TV. Handball is my life, so I'm happy when I play."

Luc Abalo (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-winger):
"We've took control of the match towards the end of the first half. We started slowly, because of the fatigue of the international week. But we've prepared well for the next few matches across several competitions. Today, as soon as we felt in danger, we played better, especially defensively. Wednesday will be a big duel. Outdoor games are always complicated. We expect a very intense meeting."
