Round of 16 second leg results

Paris Saint-Germain Handball booked their place for the EHF Champions League quarter-finals with a 37-30 win over Elverum on Thursday evening. Check out the rest of the results from the round of 16.

MONTPELLIER - PORTO: 35-27

For Montpellier, the case was more or less the same as for Les Rouge et Bleu. Indeed, the Héraultais had claimed a draw in Porto in the first leg (29-29). The MHB, well led by their last defender, Kevin Bonnefoi (12 saves), turned in a very good performance and even at the break, the result seemed clear (30': 19-11). Patrice Canayer's men finished the job in the second half and punched their ticket for the quarters, where they face the heavy task of challenging Kielce.

SZEGED - FLENSBURG : 35-36

In a favourable position following their home victory a week earlier (25-21), Flensburg finished the job on Wednesday evening away to Szeged. As expected, the Hungarians gave their German counterparts a hard time, but Jim Gottfridsson (voted best centre-half of the week) excelled in front of the home goal, scoring seven times. The Flensburgers thus advance to the next round, where they will face Barcelona.

VESZPRÉM - VARDAR SKOPJE: 31-31

After their excellent first leg in Macedonia (22-30), Veszprém's qualification was all but as they hosted Vardar Skopje. At the break, the score was even heavier for the visitors (30': 18-11). The Hungarian team saw their opponents come back in the second half, without being worried. The two teams ended up clinching a draw that sent Veszprém to the quarter-finals (against Aalborg).

The quarter-finals will be played between 11 and 18 May.
