Rodrigo Corrales: 'The Champions League is tough'

On Saturday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball won at Elverum Handball (22-25), in front of 12,500 spectators. A victory on which Raul Gonzalez, Rodrigo Corrales and Luka Karabatic all gave us their thoughts.

Raul Gonzalez (coach of the Paris Saint-Germain Handball):
"When you play here, you know you have to lift your game. Elverum played well, without pressure... Our defence was good and Rodrigo (Corrales) stopped a lot of shots! We made the break, but when we relaxed, the game was very much back on. We take the games one by one and now we return to the Lidl StarLigue, with our match against Nîmes."

Rodrigo Corrales (keeper of the Paris Saint-Germain Handball):
"We played against a team that got off to a bad start in the competition, but played some good matches, especially at the Eurotournament. It was difficult in an arena like this, against a great team who defended very well. They came back in the last minutes thanks to their counter-attacks. We won in the end, but it was complicated by their intensity. We are happy to take two points. Especially with the injuries we incurred! But we know that the Champions League is tough!"

Luka Karabatic (pivot of the Paris Saint-Germain Handball):
"We knew it would be difficult, in a very hostile environment. Our opponents played well and were galvanized by their supporters. Despite everything, we took the upper hand even though we had a bit of a scar at the end. But in the Champions League, it's difficult. We play a lot of games, so there's fatigue and injuries, but we got the two points and that's the main thing. Whether it's a win by one or ten goals, it's the same number of points."
