Rodrigo Corrales: 'Hard work paid off'

On Sunday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball won the Coupe de la Ligue, getting the better of Montpellier in the final (31-25). The win saw the capital club defend their title and make it three in a row. Rodrigo Corrales, Luka Karabatic and Viran Morros spoke to us after the triumph.

Rodrigo Corrales (Paris Saint-Germain Handball 'keeper):

"We're very happy. Last week, we lost to Montpellier so we wanted to play a huge match today. Our defence was very good and I think that's what got us the win. That's the most important thing! It's our firs title of the season. The Coupe de la Ligue is very important to us. Our hard work has paid off and I'm very happy to win with Paris. We will need to take this form with us into the league, next week against Chambéry, and we can start thinking about the Velux EHF Champions League."

Luka Karabatic (Paris Saint-Germain Handball pivot):

"We controlled the match well, except for a bit of the second half, when we could have really killed it off. By making a few mistakes, we let them get back into the match instead of getting ourselves to safety. But it's the final, against a big team, so it doesn't necessarily go according to plan. It's very satisfying, as everyone at the club works very hard! We make sacrifices. But it's in order to have moments like these. It makes us want to get out there and win more titles."

Viran Morros (Paris Saint-Germain Handball left-back):

"It was a complicated match against really great side. But we did a great job in every area, notably thanks our 'keepers. We worked very hard to get to this point. This is the first high point off the season, but I hope there will be many more to follow!"
