Raul Gonzalez: 'The first half is over'

On Wednesday, Elverum and Paris Saint-Germain Handball drew (30-30) in their EHF Champions League Round of 16 first leg clash. Check out the reactions from Raul Gonzalez, Luka Karabatic and Luc Steins.

RAUL GONZALEZ (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL COACH):

"Everything was going well until the last 15 minutes, when Elverum played very well. We must congratulate this team. The first half is over, and now we have to play at home [on Thursday, 7 April]. That will also be tough, because they will not have any pressure. We'll have to play a good game in Paris to advance to the quarter-finals."

LUKA KARABATIC (PIVOT AND CAPTAIN OF PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL):

"In the heat of the moment, it's hard to say that we got a good result, because we had the game in hand. But it's still a draw, with a second leg at home. We could also have lost, but it was not the case, so we should not panic. We will analyse what went wrong to prepare ourselves well. There will be a real match in the return leg! It will be difficult, because they are a dangerous team and tonight they showed it. We will have the support of our fans. Today, we saw how their fans galvanised them, and it's our turn next. We will have to take advantage of it. To dominate this team, we'll all have to be at 100%."

LUC STEINS (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL CENTRE-HALF):

"We were in front for the whole game, so this is not a good result. Elverum played a great game. They attacked very well and scored almost every time. It's difficult to make the difference. When we lost possession, they quickly got into scoring positions. That allowed them to stay in the game and get the draw. We made too many mistakes to win. But we are only at the half-way point in the tie, and there are still 60 minutes to play in Coubertin. Our opponent won't give up, so we have to make sure we win."
