Raul Gonzalez: 'Happy with the way we finished'

Following Les Rouge et Bleu's 36-31 victory over Ivry in the 22nd round of the Liqui Moly StarLigue, find out what Raul Gonzalez, Jannick Green and David Balaguer had to say.

RAUL GONZALEZ (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL COACH):

"There are no easy matches. You have to fight from start to finish, and that's what we did. In the second half, the defence worked better and Jannick Green was very good. The attack was better too and that's why we won the game. Everyone's talking about the game we're going to play against Nantes, but it's better if we arrive with a five-point difference on the table. Maybe we weren't psychologically ready, because we've just made the trip with this first leg of the EHF Champions League. We didn't have much time to prepare for this match, but that's the way it is. We've known since the start of the season that we're going to be playing a lot of games. I'm pleased with the strength we showed at the end of the match. We won and that's the most important thing for us as we look to carry on, because everyone wants to win the league and the two points."

JANNICK GREEN (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL GOALKEEPER):

"There are a lot of good teams in this league. I think Ivry played very well, they have very strong players and they play good handball. I also think that we weren't 100% in the first half. We didn't play at our best, it was tough today but that's how it is sometimes. I'm happy with the win. At the end of the game, we won possession two or three times and then we were able to score goals more easily. We made a lot of mistakes during the game but we won, we have to be happy and now we have four days before we face Plock."

DAVID BALAGUER (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL RIGHT WINGER):

"We saw today that no match is easy. We're in a difficult period with a lot of matches, where the team has to stay focused and apply itself because otherwise what happened to us in the first half could happen (Paris trailed at half-time). It was good to get those two points. Now we're going into a difficult week that's very important for us, so we're going to concentrate on what comes next. We said to ourselves at half-time that we had to be more diligent and concentrated because we'd lost possession a lot. Still, it has to be said that Ivry played a very good game. They knew our weaknesses and they gave us a hard time, so well done to them. Fortunately, though, the two points are staying here at home with us."
