PSG Handball start pre-season with a win

On Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain Handball played the first match of their pre-season, taking on a Créteil side who already had a few matches under their belts. Late in the afternoon, Les Rouge et Bleu arrived at the home of their neighbours...

Back in training as of two day ago, relatively few internationals were present for this first outing. But Yann Genty, freshly crowned an Olympic Champion, was there to guard the Parisian goal (Ferran Solé Sala, a bronze medallist in Tokyo, also played).

In terms of the match, three 20-minute periods awaited the two sides. Créteil got off to the better start, but Raul Gonzalez's men, still in the early stages of their pre-season, hung on and stayed in the game.

At the end of the first of the three periods, the Parisians were trailing (12-9), despite a bit of a fightback. Fortunately, the positive dynamic continued after the restart and our players stayed on their opponents' heels thanks to Dainis Kristopans....

...and then took the lead through Adama Keita!

At the second beak, it was Les Rouge et Bleu who their noses on front, going on to make the break when Kamil Syprzak converted a penalty.

As the minutes passed, the derby lost some of its friendliness. The players fought hard for every ball and it often paid off, like when Elohim Prandi intercepted and set Dainis up to score.

This offensive efficiency was combined with defensive solidity. Even on counter-attacks, Créteil couldn't seem to score, with Yann proving imperious between the sticks!

A few moments later, the final buzzer sounded and Paris Saint-Germain Handball got their pre-season off to a wining start. Next appointment: Saturday, at Coubertin, against Skejrn, with the return of the international players who took part in the Olympics.
