Preview: 5 things about Paris - Zagreb
1 - THE TABLE
Les Rouge et Bleus' European campaign is off to the perfect start! Last week, they beat Hungarian side Szeged 29-31 in an 8,000-seat Pick Arena. It was a fine victory, which enabled them to pick up two precious points away from home.
The Croatians did not fare so well, however, losing at home to a very solid Kiel side (23-30) after a very complicated first half (30': 9-16). With zero points heading into their trip to the French capital, there is no doubt that they will want to unlock their account at Coubertin.
2 - DUEL BETWEEN GOALKEEPERS
Despite the defeat, Zagreb could to count on a very good last line of defence in Aljaz Panjtac. The Slovenian keeper managed to keep out eight German attempts at a rate of 47%. For their part, Paris will once again be able to rely on Jannick Green, who has been very difficult to get past since the start of the season. At Szeged, he won nine duels against the opposing forward line.
3 - HEAD TO HEAD
This is the ninth Champions League meeting between these two teams. The capital club has dominated proceedings with six wins for one draw and one defeat. Our team won the double-header in the quarter-finals in 2016, enabling them to take part in their very first EHF Final4.
