Preview: 5 things about Paris - Saran

Paris Saint-Germain Handball take on Saran at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin on Sunday afternoon. The Parisians have a clear objective: to continue their unbeaten run in the league with a seventh win from as many Liqui Moly Starligue matches this season.

1. THE TABLE

The Parisians are enjoying a perfect start to the season, with six wins from as many games. After their 27-34 win at Chartres last week, Les Rouge et Bleu are joint leaders with Montpellier.

Saran, meanwhile, are off to a trickier start, with one win (against Chambéry, 29-27) and five defeats. Last week, the Loire-valley club lost by a single point at home to Limoges (31-32) and are now 13th.

2. CONTRAST UP FRONT

With 221 goals scored, Raul Gonzalez's men have the best attack in the league, thanks in particular to Kamil Syprzak's 48 goals (second-highest scorer in the competition). While the capital club have been particularly effective in front of goal this early in the season, Saran have not. After six rounds, the newly promoted club has the lowest tally in the competition, with 165 goals.

3. GENTY AND ACCAMBRAY RETURN

On Sunday, Paris will welcome back two familiar faces in Yann Genty and William Accambray. A Rouge et Bleu from 2020 to 2022, Yann Genty kept goal for the capital club with an iron fist, helping his side to two French league titles and two Coupes de France. During his time at the club, the French Olympic champion also experienced two EHF Champions League Final4s. William Accambray also stuffed his trophy cabinet at Paris, winning eight pieces of silverware between 2014 and 2017.

4. HEAD TO HEAD

Back in the elite after a season in the Proligue, Saran have not had the opportunity to face the Parisians on many occasions in their history. However, the advantage is firmly in the capital club's favour, with a perfect record of six wins from as many games.
