Preview: 5 things about Paris - Montpellier

Paris Saint-Germain Handball are getting to play a crunch Liqui Moly StarLigue clash: on Sunday afternoon, they play host to co-leaders Montpellier - with whom they are locked on points atop the league standings.

1 - THE TABLE

The end of the season is going to be exciting! The two teams are currently level (42 points), but provisionally behind Nantes, who won in Chambéry on Friday night. Victory would allow either Montpellier or Paris to take the lead but, for the moment, Montpellier have the head-to-head goal-difference advantage following the one-goal win in the reverse fixture(31-30).

2 - KEY STATS

The duel should be very interesting between two teams that defend well, with 717 goals conceded by the capital club and 659 by the MHB. Offensively, both sides are quite prolific, with respectively 854 and 768 goals scored.

Individually, Elohim Prandi is our top scorer with 134 goals, while Montpellier centre-half Kyllian Villeminot is also doing quite well with 101. Meanwhile, at the other end of the court, Parisian 'keeper Andreas Palicka has made 204 saves, while his Montpellier counterpart has saved179 shots. In all areas, it's very close!

3 - ROUND THREE

This is the third time this season that we have seen this fixture. The first two were played at the Sud de France Arena, with two wins for Montpellier, in the league and in the Coupe de France semi-finals (33-20). It is therefore their first clash of the season at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin. Historically, in the Liqui Moly StarLigue, Paris have 18 wins, three draws and 13 losses.

4 - THE GOLDEN TICKET

This clash will also be the opportunity to win a golden ticket, which will allow you to have a unique experience with Les Rouge et Bleu during the visit of Chartres on 21 May! To try your luck, go to the refreshment bar. The golden ticket could be in your hot dog!
