Preview: 5 things about Paris - Kiel

On Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain Handball can validate their ticket to the EHF Champions League Final4. At the Stade Pierre de Coubertin, they will have to fend off a Kiel side who, who despite their defeat in the first leg, will be a formidable opponent.

1 - A LOOK BACK AT THE FIRST LEG

Les Rouge et Bleu had a great game in Germany. They took the lead almost from the beginning of the game and dealt with the intense atmosphere of the Wunderino Arena perfectly. Our players thus brought back a precious victory from Kiel (27-31).

2 - PARISIAN PROWESS

The fact that our team won in style owes a debt to some great defending and, of course, the 12 saves produced by Jannick Green. But they were also able to rely on some great individual performances from the attacking players. Ferran Solé Sala (best right-winger of the matchday) and Dainis Kristopans (from six attempts) each scored six goals. Elohim Prandi also contributed to the spectacularity index with a magnificent kung-fu!

3 - THE DIFFERENT SCENARIOS

With a four-goal lead heading into the second leg at Coubertin, the capital club are in a strong position. However, qualification is not yet a foregone conclusion. A win, a draw or a defeat by fewer than four points would guarantee our team a place in the last four of the competition. But if they lose by four points, both teams would go into a penalty shoot-out. Finally, if the Germans win by at least five goals, they will head to Cologne in the Parisians' place.

4 - THE OTHER MATCHES

In the other matches, while Barcelona are in a favourable position to punch their ticket to the Final4 following their win away to GOG (30-37), the two other matches are undecided. Veszprém and Kielce drew in Hungary (29-29), while Plock and Magdeburg were unable to separate themselves in Poland (22-22). So there will be plenty of suspense!
