Preview: 5 things about Ivry - Paris

After a fine victory in Szeged in the EHF Champions League in midweek (29-31), Paris Saint-Germain Handball return to the Liqui Moly StarLigue. On Sunday afternoon, a derby awaits them in Round 2 when they travel to the Gymnase Auguste Delaune to take on Ivry.

1 - THE TABLE

Last week, USI kicked off their league season with a trip to face promoted Dijon. After a tight game lasting 60 minutes, Ivry were close to victory, only to see the home side equalise two seconds from the buzzer (34-34).

For their part, Les Rouge et Bleu welcomed Limoges back to the Stade Pierre de Coubertin for the league season opener. Thanks in no small part to an exceptional Jannick Green, who made 19 saves, Raul Gonzalez's men won in style (37-27).

2 - PARIS TAKES ON GAUTIER

On Sunday afternoon, Paris will be reunited with a number of familiar faces, including former club men Didier Dinart (coach) and Dylan Garain (left-back). But above all they will be up against Gautier Loredon. The 20-year-old pivot currently belongs to the capital club and is on loan at Ivry. Last season, with our team, he played 15 matches in the Liqui Moly StarLigue, scoring 15 goals.

3 - THE SECOND ROUND OF THE SEASON

Paris faced Ivry relatively recently, in their last summer warm-up match. Les Rouge et Bleu were able to count on their effective attack, but also on a very solid defence to finish their friendly session with a nice win (29-43).

4 - HEAD TO HEAD

It's a duel we're used to seeing in the French handball elite, as the two sides are facing each other for the 32nd time in the league. Paris Saint-Germain Handball lead the way with 25 wins to four defeats and two draws. Les Rouge et Bleu have now won 17 games in a row against their direct rivals.
