Pre-match: 5 things on Paris - Nantes

After three months without competition, Paris Saint-Germain Handball are back on the court as they put their Trophée des Champions title on the line (last edition in 2019) on Saturday evening. To start the season, it's a huge clash as our team faces its runner-up from last season, Nantes, in the Futuroscope Arena.

1 - ROUND TWO

It is already the second round between Les Rouge et Bleu and Nantes for the season. Last week, the two teams met in the final of the Euro Tournament, in Sélestat, with a victory for the capital club (30-29).

2 - A REMAKE

This is not the first time that these two clubs have faced each other in a Trophée des Champions final. It has already happened twice, with a win for our players in 2016 (35-26) and a loss in 2017 (32-26). It was also the fixture for the 2015 semi-final (Paris won, 30-28) and the third-place match in 2018 (Paris lost on penalties, 45-46).

3 - OFFICIAL DEBUTS

This final will be the opportunity for several of our players to make their first appearance in the Les Rouge et Bleu squad for an official match. Andreas Palicka, Jannick Green and David Balaguer (who will face his former partners) will want to confirm their good pre-seasons. Yoann Gibelin, who was absent during the friendly matches, has made the trip with the rest of the squad.

4 - A RECORD TO BUILD ON

With four titles (2014, 2015, 2016, 2019) in 11 editions, Paris boast the best record of any club in the Trophée des Champions. The H have the opportunity to win their second title in the competition.
