Our youngsters clinch second place at Tiby
All five Les Rouge et Bleu representatives, Léo Villain, Valentin Bzdynga, Baptiste Clay, Wallem-Konrad Peleka and Gautier Loredon performed well. In the semi-final, Les Bleus defeated Tunisia (33-27). Léo was one of the driving forces of this French success, with 12 saves from 23 shots faced. Offensively, our youngsters also distinguished themselves, with a goal for Wallem-Konrad, two for Valentin and a stunning five for Baptiste.

Two days later, France played the final against a Hungarian team that had won the previous round against Serbia (33-32). Despite a very balanced first half (30': 21-21), Les Bleus broke down in the second and lost against a very good team (34-40). However, Gautier and Wallem-Konrad kept their team in the game for a long time, thanks to seven and five goals respectively. France thus finished second in this 2023 edition of the TIBY. In terms of individuals, Baptiste appears in the Top 10 on the competition's scorers chart with nine units.
