No slip-up for Les Bleus

Already qualified for the main round, France played their last game of the group phase on Monday against Slovenia. Les Bleus ran out victorious for the third time in a row (31-35).

The game was never going to be all fun and games for France against a side that had the same number of points heading into this match. But Les Bleus controlled proceedings perfectly and took a lead into the break (30': 14-16). In the second half, Nikola Karabatic (4 goals) and his partners finished the job, despite a strong showing from Slovenia.

The four Rouge et Bleu on duty (Nikola, Luka Karabatic, Elohim Prandi and Mathieu Grébille) thus helped their side to finish on top of their group, with three wins in as many games. They now head into the main round with the feeling of a job well done.
