New season to start on rogue road

The National Handball League today unveiled the full schedule for the 2022-23 Liqui Moly StarLigue season.

It is now official: Les Rouge et Bleu will start their 2022-23 season away from Coubertin. After playing the Trophée des Champions in Poitiers on 3 September, they will travel to Nîmes on 8 September* for the start of the Liqui Moly StarLigue.

In European competition was well, Paris will be playing away from home and will have their work cut out when they face Veszprém- the exact same opening fixture as in last season's Champions League campaign, when Paris lost 34-31 at the Veszprém Arena.

For their first home game, Paris will welcome Selestat at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin on September 15* before playing host to Polish club Orlen Wisla Plock, Kamil Syprzak's hometown club, where he played for six years.

Among the important dates of this first part of the season, save the date for:

- The visits of Chambéry and Aix-en-Provence around November 3* and 10*, or the successive trips to Montpellier (R14) and Nantes (R15) to close out 2022 with some very high intensity matches.

- On the European stage, Paris will host Porto and Gog in November before playing them once again away from home.

- On 9 February*, the French champions will return to the Liqui Moly StarLigue against Dunkerque in Paris. But before that, they will start the last part of the Champions League group stage, in Zagreb - without forgetting the visit of Veszprém on 1 March*.

- The end of the league season will visits from heavyweights Montpellier (R25) and Nantes (R29), as well as a trip to Aix-en-Provence (R30).

All of which makes us look forward to September, when we may see the Parisians lift their first trophy of the season and kick off what promises to be another exciting season in 2022-23.
