Nedim Remili: 'Every reason to believe'

News

On Sunday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball lost to Szeged (32-29) in Velux EHF Champions League Round 12 action. Despite this defeat, Les Rouge et Bleu can still finish second, at the expense of their opponents on the day, as confirmed by Jesus Gonzalez, Nedim Remili and Viran Morros.

Jesus Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball assistant coach):
"It's hard to take in because we played well in the first 40 minutes, when we were six goals up. Then we missed too many things. Especially on the power play. I think that's the key to the game, because our opponent capitalised on that advantage to score into the empty net. That's what allowed them to come back. Now we'll see what Szeged do in their last two games. But our not losing by more than five goals was very important in terms of the particular goal difference.'

Nedim Remili (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-back):
"We seemed to be in control of the match... but we knew that everything could be reversed. In the second half, Szeged came back with better intentions and we had a big dip that hurt us tremendously. We fell behind and we couldn't turn the situation around. It's a big disappointment, but we didn't lose the title in this match. Szeged still have to go to Flensburg and Barcelona, which gives us every reason to believe... But the most important thing is to focus on ourselves! We'll have to correct the mistakes that cost us this match."

Viran Morros (Paris St. Germain Handball left-back):
"We're disappointed because we played well in the first half and started well in the second. After that we had a lot of problems. We know it's difficult to win here. There are still two games left and Szeged have two complicated away games to tackle. But we have to think about our game today. We can't repeat those mistakes... We still have a chance to finish second, so we have to stick together and it will go well."
