Nedim Remili: 'A near-perfect match'
Jota Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball assistant coach):
"Our players played with a lot of aggression and power and did so at a very high level. But thanks to a few small details, we failed to win the tie. One thing is for sure: everyone saw that Paris Saint-Germain Handball did absolutely everything in its power to pull off what was a huge challenge. Unfortunately, events at the very end of the match didn't go in our favour. We'll take the time we need to process this elimination and return our focus to league matters. We still have a title to nail down!"
Luc Abalo (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-winger):
"I think what was lacking was, above all, a good performance in the first leg. We started this match well behind the eight ball, but 15 minutes from time we were looking good to qualify. Perhaps we put too much pressure on ourselves at that moment, whereas before that we had nothing to lose. Chasing after the scoreline, even though, paradoxically, we were in front in the match, cost us a lot of energy and perhaps we were a little bit less lucid in the later stages. At any rate, when this second leg began, we believed we could rise to the challenge, and when were were 11 goals up and felt the whole stadium behind us, it was a beautiful thing... But this is sport and things didn't go our way in the final ten minutes."
Nedim Remili (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-back):
"It played out on details. We're very sad that we didn't qualify for the Champions League Final4 tonight. We gave everything we had and we played a near-perfect match. In the final minutes, we could have done better, that's true. But what's really eating away at us is our poor performance in the first leg."
