Mikki named world's best - again

After an excellent 2018, our left-back Mikkel Hansen has been named as the IHF's World Player of the Year.

The honour is totally deserved given the superb performances he turned in during the last calendar year. With his national team, he clinched fourth place in the Euros in Croatia in January and top scored in the competition with 43 goals. His performances with Les Rouge et Bleu were rewarded as he won the Lidl Starligue title, the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue while finishing third in the Velux EHF Champions League.

This is the third time that the Dane has been accorded this honour, after 2001 and 2015, and he now joins clubmate Nikola Karabatic, who won in 2007, 2014 and 2016, in an extremely select club. This is also the third time that a player playing for Paris has won the award, after (2015, 2016, 2018). And 2019 is already looking great for Mikkel, who won the World Cup on home soil and was voted the tournament's MVP in the process!
