Merci, Henrik!

Paris Saint-Germain Handball's 2022-2023 season is officially over. A number of Paris Saint-Germain Handball players will therefore be leaving the capital club. Among them is Henrik Toft Hansen, who joined in 2018.

Henrik joined Paris Saint-Germain five years ago. He joined from Flensburg, with whom he had played against Les Rouge et Bleu on several occasions. During his last season in Germany, in the double-header with Paris Saint-Germain Handball, he scored numerous times, including four goals (despite a 29-21 defeat) at his future home, the Stade Pierre de Coubertin.

In his first season in the Parisian squad, the Danish international shone immediately, as his excellent statistics show, with 35 goals in the EHF Champions League and 65 in the Liqui Moly StarLigue. That same year, he won the first of his five French league titles (in as many seasons played in France). As for the national team, he won the 2019 World Cup, the first for Denmark.

After a season truncated by Covid, Henrik then essentially returned to a defensive position, to which he has adapted perfectly. However, this position has not prevented him from scoring eight goals against Ivry in October 2020. Alongside Kamil Syprzak and Paris captain Luka Karabatic, Henrik formed one of the best handball trios in Europe. He is therefore leaving the Les Rouge et Bleu squad after five years of loyal service and, above all, a kindness and good humour that have spread far and wide to his partners. In terms of honours, Henrik won five French Championship titles, a Coupe de la Ligue, two Coupes de France and a Trophée des Champions. He returns to his homeland, where he will defend the colours of Mors-Thy Handbold.
