Luka Karabatic: 'We won the physical battle'

On Sunday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball won an important victory away to Nantes (24-26) in their Lidl StarLigue Round 12 clash. Raul Gonzalez, Vincent Gérard and Luka Karabatic looked back on this precious win.

Raul Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball coach):
"We started well thanks to all the saves Vincent (Gérard) made. We had more difficulties against the excellent Nantes defence. But we can be satisfied, because it's not easy to come and win here. Now, we will prepare for the match against Montpellier. We will also have to win there. They're a great team and it will be complicated. From tomorrow, we will concentrate on this match."

Vincent Gérard (Paris Saint-Germain Handball goalkeeper):
"What's a pity is that we dominated without being able to create a big margin. We attacked the dying minutes with a three-goal lead, but we could have hoped to do better. We defended well and seldom lost possession. Our attacking game was not always good but we got away with it thanks to the defence, which is very important for us. There are still things to work on and we're going to get on with it quickly. When you make more than 20 saves, it's always satisfying. I'm happy to have been able to help my team in such an important game."

Luka Karabatic (Paris Saint-Germain Handball pivot):
"The match was tight all the way... It has been the case for many years here. Nantes always have great motivation when it comes to facing us. They arrived with a lot of desire, but we knew how to step up in the physical fight. I think that's where we won this match. We didn't back down and we didn't break in defence. There were a few gaps in attack, but we held on! We never panicked and it was a great victory. We want to collect as many points as possible. We also hope to win in Montpellier on Wednesday. They are our two rivals. Tonight, we will enjoy our victory and in three days, we go back to the fight."
