Luka Karabatic: 'We stepped on the gas'

The Parisians returned to Coubertin with their new title of Champions of France and clinched a triumphant win over Nîmes (41-29). Nikola Karabatic, Luc Abalo and Luka Karabatic gave us their thoughts on the victory.

Luc Abalo (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-winger):

"We're very happy with this win. This is the kind of match that can be tough to play, as we were already champions. But we didn't slip up tonight. We played a very solid match and we didn't give an inch. Playing at home also made a difference; we wouldn't have turned in the same performance in another arena."

Nikola Karabatic (Paris Saint-Germain Handball playmaker):

"Tonight we played one of our best matches thanks to our motivation and the speed in our game. Nîmes are a side who play very well and very fast, but we rotated more and that's what tired them out and made the difference tonight."

Luka Karabatic (Paris Saint-Germain Handball pivot):
"We started the match very well. We played our best handball. Nîmes have a very fast front line but we managed to respond. We knew they would look to push the pace, but stepped on the gas and that's what made the difference.
The French league title is one of our major objectives and it's getting harder and harder to come by. This season we're very happy because we dominated the league. We've put together a superb league campaign with a lot of great matches."
