Luka Karabatic: 'We dug deep'

On Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain Handball got the better of an excellent Chambéry side 36-32 in their Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 8 clash at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin. Check out what Raul Gonzalez, Luka Karabatic and Ferran Solé Sala had to say after the win.

RAUL GONZALEZ (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL COACH):

"Chambéry prepared well for the match and tired us out, but we can be satisfied with this win, because the championship is not easy. There are good players and good teams and that's why this league is so competitive. We'll have a bit of a rest now. It has been a while since we've had a week with just a single game. It will do us good. Especially for our heads!"

LUKA KARABATIC (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL PIVOT AND CAPTAIN):

"It was a difficult match, but we expected this. They're a team with a lot of quality and they cause us problems every time. They are one of the better teams in our league, so it was especially tough, as we played our last match just a few days ago. There was a risk of fatigue, but we played a serious match. We didn't give up and we managed to break them down. But we had to dig deep. We will try to recover. It's rare to have a week with only one match, so we'll try to optimise that as much as possible. We need to stay in the flow and regain our energy to attack the months of November and December, which are going to be difficult."

FERRAN SOLÉ SALA (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL RIGHT-WINGER):

"We expected a complicated game and that's what it was - for all 60 minutes. We were only leading by one goal with a few minutes to go. The most important thing is to have won one more game. Especially in this period when we are going through a lot. We need a bit of rest, and this week will do us good. We have to take advantage of it because after that, we're going to keep on playing right through to the break."
