Luka Karabatic: 'Manage our weak moments better'

On Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain Handball defeated a strong Nîmes side (36-31) in their Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 18 clash. Raul Gonzalez, Luka Karabatic and Luc Steins gave us their thoughts on the game!

RAUL GONZALEZ (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL COACH):

"We controlled this game well, especially in the first half. We followed on our very good game played in the middle of the week against Flensburg. I am happy with our record in the championship with our 18 wins from 18 games played. We still have some big games to play in the coming weeks, away to Chambéry next week, then at home to Nantes.

Before that, we will play in Bucharest on Thursday and we will have to win there, in a tough arena. Everyone in the group wants to finish this first part of the competition well. Any points won will be very expensive."

LUKA KARABATIC (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL CAPTAIN AND PIVOT):

"We played a good game. The score may not really reflect our control of the game, but we knew that Nîmes would not give up until the end. We had a good first half; we came back to the locker room with an eight-goal lead. We put in a lot of intensity, with a good defense. The end of the game will remain a small black spot in the overall picture, but it will be up to us to manage our weak moments better.

We are focused on ourselves, our tactics and our game. We don't look at the table or the lead we may have over our competitors. We just want to win every game. This is also what we have to do on Thursday in the Champions League in Bucharest. Some good teams have lost there, so it's up to us to be vigilant."

LUC STEINS (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL CENTRE-HALF):

"It wasn't the best finish we could produce, but the rest of the time the team played very well. We were never really in danger, against a Nîmes side who played well and who fought until the end to put us in difficulty. There are still many games before the end of our championship, but little by little, each victory brings us closer to a beautiful outcome in this competition."
