Luka Karabatic: 'Happy to be back at Coubertin'

After victories over Frontignan in the Coupe de France (28-42) and the Trophée des Champions against Nantes (35-25), Paris Saint-Germain Handball returned to the Liqui Moly StarLigue and the Stade Pierre de Coubertin on Thursday evening. Ahead of the game against Limoges, our captain Luka Karabatic spoke to us.

Was victory over Nantes the ideal way to start the season?

"It was the first objective we set ourselves at the start of our preparations. It's always satisfying to win the Trophée des Champions. We're especially pleased with the way we did it. We played a great game, especially against a quality team like Nantes."

On Thursday, you start your league campaign against Limoges. Are you looking forward to that?

"Yes, it takes a long time to prepare, and generally speaking, we're looking forward to the competitive matches arriving quickly."

Will it also be good to get back to the Stade Pierre de Coubertin?

"Yes, we're lucky enough to be starting the league campaign at home. We'll be able to see our supporters again. We love this venue. There was some work this summer so we couldn't be there all the time. This time we're there and we want to play a good game in front of our fans."

How are you feeling about the squad at the start of the season?

"Everything's going well. The new recruits are settling in really well, both in terms of handball and people skills. We've done a lot of things this summer and the training camp in Japan enabled us to create bonds in the squad."
