Luc Steins named best center half in Europe

The Parisian centre-half was named best centre-half at the 2023 EHF Excellence Awards on Monday in Vienna (Austria).

Three weeks after being crowned MVP of the Liqui Moly Starligue for the third time in a row, Luc Steins, the club from the capital's No6, has this time been rewarded on the European stage by winning the best centre-half trophy awarded by the European Handball Federation. In this season's Champions League, the 28-year-old Dutch international scored 64 goals in 18 matches and was the competition's top assister with 103 assists in 18 matches (leader in this statistic).

Paris coach Raul Gonzalez and four other Rouge et Bleu players were nominated in their respective categories: Elohim Prandi (left-back), Dainis Kristopans (right-back), Ferran Solé (right-winger) and Kamil Syprzak (pivot).
