Luc Steins: 'Get ahead of our rivals'

Check out what Raul Gonzalez, Luc Steins and David Balaguer had to say after Les Rouge et Bleus' 38-45 win over Saint-Raphaël Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 14.

RAUL GONZALEZ (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL COACH)

"We were very effective in attack, but we had problems with the changes. That's why both teams scored a lot of goals. In the end, we won and that's the main thing. It's always good news when our direct rivals (Nantes and Montpellier) drop points. We're ahead by a few points, but it's not over yet. They play each other on Tuesday night, so I don't know what's going to happen, and we have to concentrate on our own game at Nîmes. We want to end the year with a win, but we know it will be difficult against a team that plays very fast handball."

LUC STEINS (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL CENTRE-HALF)

"We set the pace right from the start of the game and scored on a number of occasions. We were successful in most of our one-on-ones, so it was a good match. Nantes and Montpellier lost, while we did what was necessary in a difficult match, so that's perfect. We need to look ahead to the next game to make sure we don't lose any points along the way and get ahead of our rivals before the break."

DAVID BALAGUER (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL RIGHT WINGER)

"We played a complete match. I think we thoroughly deserved the win. It's always good to get a lead over our rivals, but the most important thing is the work we do every day. We have one last game left this season. At the same time, Nantes and Montpellier play each other. We'll see what happens. The most important thing is to arrive at the end of the season in a position to win the championship, and that's what we're going to try to do."
