Luc Abalo: 'We maintained our level'

On Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain Handball started their Lidl StarLigue season in Istres. Luc Abalo, Sander Sagosen and Kim Ekdahl du Rietz commented on this excellent opening-day victory for Les Rouge et Bleu (25-35).

Luc Abalo (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-winger):
"Every teams looks to get off to a good start and we knew it wouldn't be easy in the first 15 minutes. But we managed to maintain our level while our opponent got tired. We showed a lot of motivation! Even when the Istrians scored, it was hard for them to do so. We didn't lose possession easily and we were able to play together well. That's a very good thing."

Sander Sagosen (Paris Saint-Germain Handball playmaker):
"It was difficult, because we travelled during the day. It was also the first game of the season, but we were very focused. In particular, we defended well. We controlled the whole game. We prepared well over the summer, and we are reaping the rewards. Now we will be able to rest up before facing Nantes."

Kim Ekdahl du Rietz (Paris Saint-Germain Handball left-back):
"It was a weird game with an unusual rhythm. But we are happy because we won with by ten goals. We kept our concentration throughout the match. Mission accomplished!"
