Léo Villain: 'I helped the team, that's the main thing'

Check out what Raul Gonzalez, Adama Keita and Léo Villain had to say after Paris Saint-Germain Handball's 34-26 victory over Cesson-Rennes in Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 13.

RAUL GONZALEZ (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL COACH)

"We started very strongly and maintained our level throughout the match. There were no problems in either attack or defence. We picked up two points and that's the most important thing, because this is a period when there are a lot of matches coming up. Next week, there's no Champions League, but it'll be much the same; there's the cup on Wednesday, and the league on Saturday. We can't rest, but we're used to it."

ADAMA KEITA (LEFT WINGER, PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL)

"It's good to get a good result at home. All the players were part of it. It's important to win this type of game, because they're tricky matches. Cesson-Rennes are a good team, with a particularly strong squad. It's difficult because you have to concentrate on the decisive matches. In the Coupe de France, the matches are knockout, so you have to be careful. Against Saran, the advantage is that we'll be playing at home. After that, we have two very tough away games against Saint-Raphaël and Nîmes. It will be very important to win those games to finish 2023 on a high."

LÉO VILLAIN (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL GOALKEEPER)

"I'm satisfied with my performance up until the 45th minute. The last quarter of an hour wasn't as good, but overall I'm happy. I think I helped the team, that's the main thing. My first penalty save did me a lot of good, because it got me straight into the game and freed me up. We've had a difficult few weeks, so it was important not to relax and to get this win at home. We've got two big games next week, so we need to stay focused and not let up."
