Léo Plantin: 'Maintain this state of mind'
On Friday, Paris Saint-Germain Handball beat Chartres 44-30 in their Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 16 match. Find out what Raul Gonzalez, Ruben Marchan and Léo Plantin had to say after Les Rouge et Bleus' latest success.
RAUL GONZALEZ (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL COACH)
"We started the game very strongly and managed to make the difference in the first thirty minutes. Everyone was motivated and stayed focused from start to finish, so I'm very satisfied. It's never easy to get back into the game. Tonight was very good. We did what we needed to do as we returned to the Coupe de France and the league, and now we need to do the same in the EHF Champions League."
RUBEN MARCHAN (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL PIVOT)
"We were under more pressure because it was the start of the second half of the season... It's always a special one. We played a very good match and now we're going to prepare for what's to come. We want to build on what we achieved in the first half of the season. We're in a good situation, but we need to work and take it one game at a time. We're ready to resume in the Champions League. It's more complicated, and we need to win all the games we have left to clinch a top-two finish."
LÉO PLANTIN (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL LEFT WINGER)
"We told ourselves before the match that it wouldn't be an easy game and that we'd have to give it our all. That's what we did. It's always nice to get some game time and score. It was a difficult goal (his strike from the right wing), but it felt good. Nikola gave me a great pass and the referee had his arm up, so I had to shoot. I decided to aim where the keeper wasn't and I put everything I had into the shot, and it went in. We try to play every match at 100%, no matter who we're up against. That's the attitude we need to keep for the rest of the season."
